No image displayed on the monitor after start up
Possible reasons
1 – No VGA or HDMI connection
2 – Monitor cable might be damaged
3 – Input mode of the monitor is incorrect
Procedures
1. Verify the device is connected to the monitor via HDMI or VGA cable.
If not, please connect the device to the monitor and reboot NVR.
2. Verify the connection cable is good.
If there is still no image displayed on the monitor after rebooting, check connection cable is good and change the cable to reconnect.
3. Verify input mode on monitor is correct.
Check the input mode of the monitor matches with the output mode of the device. Example – if the output mode of the NVR is HDMI output, then the input mode of the monitor must be the HDMI input. If this is not correct please modify the input mode of the monitor.
4. Check if the fault is solved by the steps 1 to step 3.
If it is solved, finish the process.
If not, please refer to www.spds.com.au website and email support at support@spds.com.au
There is an audible warning sound when NVR starts up
Possible reasons
1 – No HDD is installed in the device.
2 – The installed HDD has not been initialized.
3 – The installed HDD is not compatible with the NVR or it is faulty.
Procedures
1. Verify the HDD is initialized.
Select ‘Menu>HDD>General’. If the status of the HDD is “Uninitialized”, check the checkbox of the corresponding HDD and click the “Init” button.
2. Verify the HDD is detected or is in good condition.
Select ‘Menu>HDD>General’. If the HDD is not detected or the status is “Abnormal”, please refer to www.spds.com.au website and email support at support@spds.com.au.
3. Check if the fault is solved by the steps 1 to step 2.
If it is solved, finish the process.
If not, please refer to www.spds.com.au website and email support at support@spds.com.au
NVR has only displayed one camera on screen
Right click on screen, select ‘Multi Screen’ and choose camera layout i.e. 2×2 or 3×3
Camera has not loaded on the screen
Check camera cable for any damages and that it is plugged in properly at both ends. Restart the camera by removing cable from the back of the NVR for 10 seconds then plug back in. Wait approx. 2-3 minutes for IP cameras to start back up again.
How do I troubleshoot an IP camera that is not working?
Swap the camera over with a working camera. If the already working camera still does not work on a non-working line, the cable may be damaged and will need to be replaced. If camera still doesn’t work on a working line, the IP camera may be faulty.
If IP camera is not detected or the status is “No Link”, please refer to www.spds.com.au website and email support at support@spds.com.au.
No monitor connected with the NVR locally
Possible reasons
1 – After connecting the IP camera to the NVR, the image is output via the main spot interface be default.
Procedures
1. Enable the output channel
2. Select “Menu>Configuration>Live View>View”, and select video output interface in the drop down list and configure the window you want to view.
Note: The view setting can only be configured by the local operation of the NVR.
Note: Different camera orders and window-division modes can be set for different output interfaces separately, and digits like ‘D1’ and ‘D2’ stands for the channel number, and ‘X’ means the selected window has no image output.
The image freezes when the NVR is playing back
Possible reasons
1 – A poor network between the NVR and IP camera, and there exists packet loss during transmission.
2 – The frame rate is not the real-time frame rate.
Procedures
1. Verify the network between the NVR and IP camera is connected.
When image is stuck, check all cables and connections to make sure camera is operating properly in live view and restart camera.
2. Verify the frame rate is real-time frame rate.
Select “Menu>Record>Parameters>Record”, and set the resolution and bitrate to a lower level.
3. Verify the hardware can afford the playback.
Select “Menu>Record>Encoding>Record”, and set the resolution and bitrate to a lower level.
4. Reduce the number of local playback channel.
Select “Menu>Playback”, and uncheck the checkbox of unnecessary channels.
5. Check if the fault is solved by the above steps.
If it is solved, finish the process.
If not, please refer to www.spds.com.au website and email support at support@spds.com.au
No record file found in the NVR local HDD
Possible reasons
1 – The time setting of the system is incorrect.
2 – The search condition is incorrect.
3 – The HDD is in error or not detected.
Procedures
1. Verify the system time is correct.
Select “Menu>Configuration>General>General”, and verify the ‘Device Time’ is correct.
2. Verify the search condition is correct.
